MC9400 Configuration Guide
The MC9400 is available with many options so you can get a device optimized for your business.  This guide will help you understand the choices to be made before we can make an accurate quote.

Scan Engine Choices
The MC9400 has two scan engine options available- both available with optional 16 Megapixel Rear Facing Camera and 8 Megapixel Front Facing Camera. The actual maximum range will depend on several factors including the barcode type (Code 128, QR Code, etc.), the size of the barcode, the material it is printed on (white label, retroreflective label, etc.) and more.  MSS Software is happy to provide MC9400 units with each scan engine so you can determine which is best for your business.

Keypad Choices
Multiple keypad choices are available.  Most users select the 53 Key options because it has a dedicated key for each alpha and numeric key plus it has shiftable Function keys (F1, F2, etc.) which is helpful for legacy green screen applications.  MSS Software is happy to provide MC9400 units with each keypad so you can determine which is best for your business.

Environmental Options
The Zebra MC9400 is a rugged device by design.  There are options to make it enhanced for special environments such as cold storage and Non-Incendive.

The Cold Storage option enhances the devices by adding a heater element to the LCD display and special battery is included with different chemistry to withstand the cold temperatures.  The Zebra MC9400 with cold storage option is for temperatures as low as  -30°C / -22°F.  Models equipped with the cold storage option receive a special marking of a blue band around the screen of the device.

The non-Incendive (NI) option enhances the device by adding extra protection so that it may safely operate in areas rated Class 1 Div 2 where gaseous fumes may be present.  The NI rated MC9400 also comes equipped with a special battery.  Models equipped with the NI option receive a special marking of an orange band around the screen of the device.

Radio Options
The MC9400 comes standard with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6E. The MC9450 includes options for 5G cellular radio and Private LTE (CBRS).
